Aciqra (uh-SEE-kruh) is a free and open source virtual planetarium and sky mapping program which tracks celestial bodies including planets, deep sky objects and stars to an accuracy of a fraction of a degree for thousands of years into both the future and the past. Although it may have educational potential, Aciqra is not designed for this purpose and intentionally lacks realism in favor of readability. As a result, it may not be perfectly suitable for most of the general public due this lack of eye-candy. Beyond this, there is no reason why it cannot be used by anyone who knows how to use a computer.
